My eight year old informed me that she didn't need to join Toastmasters. She is already good at speaking in front of people. Except, she tells me, when she has to be in front of the group alone. In Toastmasters, you have the lecturn to yourself, but you are never truly alone. There is a caring and supportive group of people appreciating your speech and waiting to give you constructive feedback.
Whatever your reason is for waiting to join Toastmasters, come and visit and talk to a member. You never know how a member might help you overcome those obstacles and better thinking, listening, and (oh yes) speaking!
