Marshwinds Toastmasters held their club speech contests today.
For 1st Place in the Evaluation contest: Sandy Ryan!
For 2nd Place in the International Speech contest: Lisa Jenks!
For 1st Place in the International Speech contest: Beth Silverwater!
As Beth is unable to attend the Area Contest, Lisa Jenks will represent Marshwinds Toastmasters at the Area 92 International Speech contest along with Sandy Ryan in the Evaluation Contest. The Area 92/Area 95 Contest is Saturday, April 12, at St. Jude Medical, 14900 Minnetonka Industrial Rd, Minnetonka. Registration starts at 9:00 AM, contestant briefings are at 9:30, contest begins at 10:00. The Western Division contest will follow on April 24th with the winners of the area contests within the division.
If you have not seen a contest like this before, it is actually two contests in one:
Evaluation Contest: A "target" speaker gives a speech which all of the contestants evaluate. We were honored to have Dan Friedman Shedlov, our Western Division Governor, as target speaker.
International Contest: A 5-7 minute speech on any topic. The speeches are usually inspirational. Here are the photos, many thanks to all who contributed to the success of the event:
