Good Day Marsh Winds Toastmasters! Last week’s theme was Let Your Light Shine!
Each member that attended was invited to choose a candle before entering the meeting room.
Cheryl Henkels was our Sergeant at Arm; beginning our meeting on time and with joy!
Sandy Ryan was our Presiding Officer! She introduced two guests, Dan Tierrney; who has visited before and Weston Henkels! Sandy ’s tip was in reference to light; how the light begins to increase at this time of the year. She invites us to notice more light and to soak it up!
I was your toastmaster. I choose a round candle that held a wick inside. When I light the candle, it reminds me of my inner light; to foster and allow it to grow bright and strong for the entire world to see.
I was graciously supported by Elleva Joy McDonald as our Ah Counter, Sandy Ryan as our Grammarian, and Aimee Krebsbach as our timer! Thank you to each of you for your support and light!
We had three speakers as well to grace our meeting!
Mike Kennedy, giving speech #7 Research Your Topic, gave a speech titled It’s All About Pain! Shaun Jamison, giving speech # 3 Get to The Point, gave a speech titled Survey Says! Larry Everett, giving an advanced manual speech from the storytelling manual, gave a speech titled Living the Life as an Army Officer’s Wife! We were blessed with three unique, varied, and bright speeches! Thank you all for sharing a bit of your light with us!Table Topics was hosted by Betty Liedtke. Tom, Marleen and Guest Dan all participated. They were asked fabulous questions regarding candles, light, and their selves. You may want to ask them about their responses! Their light touched each of us!
Tom Schmid was our General Evaluator. He introduced our evaluators. Deborah Dora shared her light evaluating Mike Kennedy’s speech! Marleen Geyen shared her light evaluating Shaun Jamison’s speech! Cheryl Henkels shared her light evaluating Larry Everett’s speech! Beautiful, skilled, personal evaluations! Thank you, evaluators, for this piece of light!
Our meeting ended with guest comments…. Dan signed up and is looking forward to beginning his journey in TM with Marsh Winds! Welcome Dan!
Weston used the word of the day, delighted to share his feeling on the meeting. He also felt the speeches were good and the meeting was nice! Weston also wrote each speaker a “love note”! What a gift!
I lit all the candles people had chosen at the beginning of the meeting. We took in this lovely bright and beautiful light, which represents each member of Marsh Winds! I invited people to take their candles to remind them of their inner light and to allow it to shine; at TM and where ever their life takes them. I encourage all our members to take a few moments and plan, commit, your self to Marsh Winds and your speaking and leadership goals. If you are a mentor please meet with your mentee, and set your goals for the rest of our fiscal year; together our light can and will shine brilliantly!
Take good care,
Jennifer
