Meeting recap from Thursday, December 20th "On The Day You Were Born"

Good Morning Marsh Winds Toastmasters,
We had a glorious meeting on the 20th of December. We celebrated each and every one of you thru the book On the Day You Were Born by Debra Frasier. It is a simple story of the earth celebrating your birth. Our table was laden with flowing green fields full of animals, stones, trees, colored glass, shells, water for the sea and fish, the sun and more trees on the mantle. The earth was depicted with all its glory and being. All in attendance were gifted with a stone, colored, glass, shell, something of their choosing to remind them of the perfect harmony and great law that we all live within and that celebrates us each and every day.
We were also gifted with 3 speakers:
Aimee Krebsbach, giving her ice breaker speech: Aimee shared a glorious speech on food/cooking at three different times in her life. It was beautiful.
Cheryl Henkels, giving her 7th speech: The Power of Giving. Cheryl built upon her table topics role from last week. She simply conversed with us on the affects of giving; powerful and rich.
Sandy Ryan; giving an advanced manual speech: Ring-a-ling. She informed as well as spoke personally of her Tinnitus; a ringing in the ear (s). She included a Q & A session at the end of her speech. The audience asked masterful questions and Sandy graciously answered each with skill, facts, and style.
Table topics were lead by Larry Everett. Larry asked Debra Dora how her name was selected. Debra shared the story of her faith and the D in Debra coming from her grandmother Dora. The "ebra" coming from her mothers favorite actress Debbie Reynolds.
Susan Budig was asked what was extraordinary about the day she was born. Susan replied that Martin Luther King's birthday is the day after hers. I believe her mother's best friend also has the same birthday as Susan. Shaun Jamison was also asked a TT question. You can watch his response! (Coming Soon) Thank you Cheryl for capturing Shaun's table topics on tape!
Our evaluators were Jean Keating (Aimee Krebsbach), Elleva Joy McDonald (Cheryl Henkels), and Tom Schmid (Sandy Ryan). These three evaluators were masterful in their duties!
I was honored to have the following assistance during the meeting:
Betty Liedtke – Grammarian, Susan Budig – Ah Counter, and Mike Kennedy – Timer.
Our word of the day was Extraordinary. This word simply describes each of you!
Thank you for being!
Jennifer Stensrud
P.S. Sandy coined a new phrase: "Guests in our hearts" Please keep our guests that have visited and ones yet to come in your hearts.
