"Creators in Creation" May 21st Meeting Theme

Fellow Creators at Marsh Winds,

What is it, to stand at the center of your life, to look out and to recognize your own hand in every aspect? Does it delight you, does it dismay you, or does it range wildly somewhere between these two poles? What is your tone -- your emotional set-point -- upon which your life unfolds? Come and explore "Creators in Creation" this week at Marsh Winds!

We have three wonderful speakers:

Lee Handwerger ("Positive Leadership: Lessons from the Bottom of the World");

Dawn Anderson, from the Communication & Leadership Manual / organization ; and

LisaJenks, from Storytelling Manual.

SPEAKERS: Please provide your speech information (via Online Duty Roster or email) to both your assigned Evaluator and to me. Please also provide me with your preferred Introduction.

We have a delightful line-up of Marsh Winds members serving in all other roles - Thank you! (...but for the Timer, whom I shall set upon as one steps over the threshold.)

Another great reason to Be Present Thursday is to celebrate President Sandy Ryan's fabulous birthday! We will acknowledge Sandy! Sandy will also be announcing the slate of officer candidates for the coming Toastmaster year.

See you all Thursday!

Joy and Light,

Jean Keating

Hello Everyone,

Who wouldn't love to multitask, 1. clean out old cell phones, 2. help keep the environment clean and 3. help the Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project (BWLAP)???? (Jennifer Swanson, resident professional organizer, would be proud of you!!)

For every old cell phone donated, the firm donates $.50 to $30 per phone to the BWLAP. Please read the link below and /or pass on to whomever you think may have a cell phone, which is just about everyone we know.

Thanks for your consideration!!!

See you all Saturday at the clean up, Jenn Ray

April 30th Meeting Recap "Traveling"

Toastmaster Meeting 4/30/09 Traveling

Our meeting was called to order by Sergeant-At-Arms, Larry Everett. President, Sandy
Ryan welcomed our guest who had moved to Minnesota from
Singapore and our Toastmaster, Crissy Rogelin.

Calling our attention to what we have right at our fingertips, Crissy challenged us to explore Minnesota by traveling it, as the theme of the day.

The word of the day was "deride" and Trichy Pasupathy, our Grammarian let us know
the definition as well as assuring us he would be listening to our use of language.
We also welcomed back Kimball Service from a long absence who volunteered as
timer.

Lee Handwerger was our first speaker and delivered a commanding speech on Wall
Street entitled "You Paid Them How Much"

Pamela Rediger, our second speaker, titled her speech "A New Different Kind of Spring Cleaning" which was a look at the internal clutter of our self.

Finishing up as our third speaker was President Sandy Ryan who spoke to us on "A Time to Learn and A Time To Grow." She pointed out what we have accomplished this year as a club and in turn how she had benefitted in her own personal growth as a leader. At the same time she wanted us to be really present and enjoy our Toastmaster group.

Entertaining us with a vista of Table Topics sites, Larry Everett invited Deborah Dora,
Crissy Roeglin and Susan Budig to elaborate on Minnesota places they had visited.
Serving as a first time General Evaluator was Dawn Anderson. Susan Budig, Dr.
Michael Kennedy, and Deborah Dora evaluated our speakers. And Dr. Kennedy also
filled the role of ah-counter.

For her entertaining illustration of our Travel Minnesota theme, Crissy Roeglin was
named Toastmaster of the Day.
